STACC is now a positively evaluated research and development institution

This week, the list of positively evaluated research and development institutions was officially approved with the signature of the Minister of Education and Research, Mailis Reps. STACC is one of the institutions receiving a positive evaluation.
Regular evaluation is an external evaluation, which assesses the level of the R&D institution in the field compared to the international level of the field. The Minister of Education and Research confirms an evaluation committee consisting of 3-16 members of external experts, which gives an assessment of the research and development activities of the institution to be evaluated. The Minister of Education and Research approves the decision of regular evaluation on the basis of a reasoned proposal from the evaluation committee; according to that decision, the activities of the research and development institution are evaluated either positively or negatively. The validity of a positive decision is seven years.
STACC was evaluated in the field of natural sciences, and the expert committee included professor Christian Enss (Heidelberg University), professor Anne Boddington (University of Brighton), professor Andrew E. Clark (Paris School of Economics), professor Barbara Ekbom (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences), professor Geoffrey Gadd (University of Dundee), professor Hans Gellersen (Lancaster University), professor Jennifer C. Green (University of Oxford), professor Martin Halliwell (University of Leicester), professor Frands Herschend (Uppsala University), professor Boye L. Jensen (University of Southern Denmark), professor emeritus Ronald J Maughan (Loughborough University), professor emeritus Ian McConnell (Interdisciplinary research centre Cambridge Infectious Diseases), professor emeritus Jan-Gunnar Persson (KTH Royal Institute of Technology), and professor emeritus Elianne Riska (University of Helsinki).
