Junior Researcher in Mashup Development Tools

The Software Technology and Applications Competence Centre (STACC) is an R&D organisation that conducts leading-edge applied research in areas with potential for commercial impact. The centre currently gathers around 30 researchers and research engineers who work across six projects sponsored by a network of ten industry partners.

STACC is currently seeking applications for multiple Junior Researcher positions in the field of mashup and rapid prototyping tool development. The ideal candidate will be a master student who is fast learner and aware of modern Web technologies (widgets, microformats, Google Wave etc) and tools for mashup construction, such as Yahoo! Pipes, Open Kapow, iGoogle, IBM Mashup Center, WaveMaker Studio etc. Strong programming skills using a variety of languages is essential, while experience in Web application development is desirable.

The successful candidate will work in a project involving Web-based GIS development companies, which aims at developing rapid prototyping tools for speeding up development of mashup-based Web-based GIS solutions.

The salary will be competitive. The starting date is negotiable.
